Supported Charities
Voucher Cafe has a history of donating to local and national charitable appeals and supports certain key charities on a regular basis through various fundraising activities. Generally, we only donate to charities that have, in some way or another, affected our lives and are close to our own hearts. Some of our more recent benefactors include, the National Breast Cancer Foundation, the Hervey Bay Hospital Pediatrics Ward (Children's ward) and the Victorian Bushfire Victims Holiday Relief Package, coordinated by the Holiday Hervey Bay Group. Below is a brief overview of our contributions to these vital organisations.
National Breast Cancer Foundation

In December 2007 our own Robyn Hall was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, a diagnosed that rocked both our worlds! Over the following months we quickly learned a great deal about the important work performed by the National Breast Cancer Foundation not only in providing vital funding to important research projects across the country, but also the role they play in providing awareness and assistance to victims of this often, debilitating disease. This prompted us into action and we decided to make the National Breast Cancer Foundation our primary benefactor for our fundraising activities for the next 2 years. We are a registered NBCF Community Fundraising Supporter.
Some of the fundraising we have been involved with for the National Breast Cancer Foundation included:
- Girls On Film Night
A Movie premiere night, showing the new chick flick, "Women". this event was coordinated in conjunction with our good friends at Big Ideas. Together, we raised $1315.00 for the Foundation. - Hot Drink Sales
Every hot drink sold at Voucher Cafe since 10th October 2008 has had a small contribution. To date this alone has raised $274.00 for the Foundation. - Tips Jar
The Tips Jar on our counter has been converted into fundraising tin for the Foundation and customer soften drop their loose change into it as well. We haven't counted this yet, but we are confident there is about $50+ in there so far.

Hervey Bay Hospital Pediatrics Ward
Last Christmas Robyn and I were sitting back at home relaxing and looking around us at all our possessions and generally feeling thankful for everything we noticed a commercial on television about sick children stuck in hospitals on Christmas Day. We decided right there and then that we wanted to donate something to the children's ward at the hospital. So Robyn offered to sacrifice My PlayStation2 and 8 games (since I don't use it anymore). We packed it up and took it up to the hospital right there and then. We recently received this thank you letter from QLD Health.
Victorian Bushfire Victims Holiday Relief Package
Being from Victoria the recent bushfires that have torn through the state have hit home pretty hard with us. thankfully, we have not been directly affected in that we have not lost any friends ro family, nor anyone we know has lost their home. But plenty of others have! We wanted to do something for these victims, but didn't think we could do much other than to provide a cash donation, like most of the rest of the country has.
However, that was until we heard about the fantastic and unique offer being put together by the folks at Holiday Hervey Bay, and we didn't' hesitate to jump on board. 18 resorts and accommodation providers in Hervey Bay are donating 100x5 night holidays to victim's of devastating bushfires in Victoria. So we threw in 100x$10 Breakfast Vouchers to help them along.
